The Vision Academy was created for players who are ready for a new challenge but not yet ready for competitive play, or the full commitment of competitive soccer. Designed for players born in 2017–2019, to bridge the gap between our In-House Programs and Vision FC. Players start to experience a more competitive training environment and rhythm of competition, while continuing to grow through creativity, repetition, and confidence.
Too often, players are rushed into a competitive environment before they’re technically or emotionally ready, while being asked to grasp tactical concepts that are too complex for young players. Vision Academy gives them the opportunity to be introduced to a greater competitive environment through integrating with Vision FC, and continuing to participate in Vision’s in-house programs. This allows our Academy players the opportunity to have a variety of different practice environments throughout the year, and receive meaningful game experience in a low pressure environment.
The goal of our Academy is to transition players from small-sided developmental play to competitive soccer, while preserving joy, confidence, and creativity.
Vision Academy will have both Winter and Summer Sessions, and participate in our Spring and Fall 3v3 fall leagues.
Winter Academy (January and February), May Academy, and August Academy:
1 session per week with the In-House Program
1 session per week training with Vision FC
In-House 3v3 and 6v6 games during these months for meaningful game experience
Spring 3v3 League (March & April) and Fall 3v3 League (September & October)
Full participation in the In-House Program (trainings + games)
This balance provides variety and challenge, allowing players to experience different environments while continuing to build their technical and decision-making abilities.
Commitment: Seasonal Registrations (Winter Academy, Spring 3v3 League, May Academy, August Academy, and Fall 3v3 League).
Ball mastery and 1v1 development
2v1 and 3v3 problem-solving
Movement, scanning, and awareness
Confidence and composure under pressure
Each activity builds toward a more complete understanding of the game, without overwhelming players with early tactical systems or fixed positions.
Vision Academy players train alongside Vision FC once a week, during the Academy sessions. Introducing players to a more competitive practice environment provides them the challenges needed to continue to develop as a player. Our Academy players that are ready for additional challenges, will have opportunities to 'guest play' with Vision FC.
By the time players reach the Academy stage, they have already built a foundation and confidence with the ball. Academy players can demonstrate comfort on the ball, confidence in 1v1 situations, and a love for the game. Vision Academy is designed to extend that foundation. Players are gradually exposed to higher training demands, new competitive environments, and increased problem-solving, while still being supported in age-appropriate, low-pressure environments.
This intentional progression allows players to grow at the right pace. They experience competitive moments without being rushed into full-time competition. They train alongside Vision FC players before being expected to commit to that pathway. Most importantly, they develop clarity, confidence, and readiness, not just skill.
Vision Academy is not a shortcut to competitive soccer.
It is the bridge that ensures when players step into Vision FC, they are prepared technically, emotionally, and mentally to thrive.
From In-House ➝ Vision Academy ➝ Vision FC, every step is connected, purposeful, and centered on long-term player development, not short-term results.
Before players are ready for the challenges of Vision Academy, their development begins in our In-House Program, where movement, ball mastery, confidence, and joy are built from the ground up. In the next article, Inside Vision Soccer: Our In-House Program, we take a look into why we believe a players foundation should come before competition.
